Women's Hockey Skates Past Cortland, 5-1

CORTLAND, NY—Kristin Bozek (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) scored two goals to lead Buffalo State (5-8-1/4-3) to a 5-1 victory over host Cortland (1-12-1/0-7-1) in an ECAC West game tonight.

Senior Jamie Overbeck (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) added a goal and an assist, while Casey Bull (Lockport/Lockport) and Sarah Rittberg (Laguna Hills/Laguna Hills) each tallied a marker.

The Bengals scored four second period goals to take a 4-0 lead after two stanzas and added their final goal of the night at the 13:23 mark of the third. The Red Dragons managed a goal late in the final period to erase the shutout. Shannon Anesetti (Canonsburg/Canon-McMillan) made 28 saves in goal for Buffalo State.

With the win, Buffalo State is above .500 in league play for the first time in program history.

The same two teams will play again tomorrow at noon.
