Buffalo State skated to a 3-3 tie today at home against Neumann in a game of firsts for the Bengals, as they earn their first tie and first conference point of the season.

All three of Buffalo State's goals came in the opening period after Neumann took an early 1-0 lead. Mal Nutting (Gardiner, ME) got the Bengals on the board with her first career goal just 24 seconds after the Knights took the lead. Later in the period, Jamie Overbeck (Tonawanda) scored her first career goal, and added a second tally just under three minutes later.

The Bengals held the 3-1 advantage until 6:43 of the third period when Neumann closed the gap to a single goal. The Knights knotted the score with just over six minutes remaining, and neither team would score again, despite a couple of outstanding chances for both teams in the overtime period.

Mary Keddie (Williamsville) made 30 saves between the pipes for the Bengals.

Buffalo State is now 1-11-1 and 0-7-1 in ECAC West play. The Bengals will travel to meet Trinity for a pair of non-conference games next Saturday and Sunday.
