Women's Lacrosse Explodes Past RIT, 14-6

Buffalo State out shot RIT 34-18 en route to a commanding 14-6 victory at Coyer Field earlier this evening.

The Bengals took a 4-0 lead in the first half off of goals by Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River), Annie Tallchief (Perrysburg/Lakeshore), Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) and Chelsey Frail (Hilton/East Rochester). Buffalo State’s defense managed to fend off RIT, who only found the back of the net once in the first half.

It was all Buffalo State in the second half as Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman) scored three goals and registered one assist. Ashley Parker (Watertown/Watertown), Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Frail each added a mark in the second half while Rachael Galus (Hamburg/Frontier) and Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/C.W.Baker) both scored a pair of goals. Tallchief registered seven of 32 groundballs.

The Bengals remain unbeaten and advances to 3-0. Buffalo State will face Elmira tomorrow for a 1 p.m. game at Corning East High School.
