Women's Lacrosse Garners Academic Honors
The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) announced that Buffalo State is one of 41 teams in all of Division III recognized for achieving success in the classroom with the designation of Honor Squad. This recognition is given to teams that held a team GPA of 3.00 or greater for the 2006-2007 academic year.
As a team, Buffalo State maintained a 3.10 cumulative grade point average. In addition, three Bengals, Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool), Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) were named to the 2007 Academic Honor Roll.
Silky completed her junior year as a speech and language pathology major with a 3.54 cumulative GPA. Lyons also finished her junior year, with 3.48 GPA in the field of social work. Bernal completed her degree this spring with a 3.41 GPA in childhood education.
