Women's Lacrosse Keeps Playoff Hopes Alive With Win at Oswego, 8-6
OSWEGO, NY--Buffalo State (10-3/2-3) never trailed and hung on for an 8-6 win at Oswego (5-8/2-5) today, to keep its SUNYAC playoff hopes alive.
Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/CW Baker) led the Bengals attack with four goals. Leah Bernal (Marilla/Iroquois) added a goal and an assist. Katie Henderson (Blasdell/Frontier), Katie Lyons (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) also scored, and Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) added two assists.
Buffalo State led 4-2 at halftime and never let the Lakers even the score in the final stanza. Oswego outshot Buffalo State, 19-18, as Tara Ammerman (Naples/Marcus Whitman) made six saves.
Buffalo State will host Cortland on Monday at 4 p.m.
