Women's Lacrosse Rips Morrisville, 17-3

BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (8-2/0-2) snapped its two-game losing skid with a 17-3 win over visiting Morrisville (1-8) in a non-conference game today at Coyer Field.

Freshman Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/Henninger) paced the Bengals offense with two goals and three assists. Meagan Powers (Pearl River/Pearl River) had a goal and two assists, Erin Silky (Liverpool/Liverpool) and Stephanie Georgopolous (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) added two markers, while Julia Gefell (Watertown/Watertown) and Abby Breneman (Wooster, OH/Wooster) each recorded one goal and a helper. Eight other Bengals also registered single markers.

Buffalo State dominated an undersized Morrisville squad from the opening whistle, holding the Mustangs scoreless through the first 30 minutes of play and taking a 9-0 lead into halftime before cruising to the win. The Bengals outshot Morrisville, 33-7. Junior Katie Rivers (Watertown/Watertown) had to make just one save to earn the win.

Buffalo State will travel to Geneseo on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
