Women’s Lacrosse Slips Past Brockport
BROCKPORT, NY—Erin Silky (Liverpool/ Liverpool) scored with 43 seconds remaining to give Buffalo State (3-2/1-0) a 9-8 victory over host Brockport (3-2/0-1) today in the SUNYAC opener.
Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/ CW Baker) led the Bengals’ offense with three goals and two assists. Katie Lyons (Williamsville/ Williamsville North) added two goals and an assist. Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Hamburg), Jennifer Tierney (Massapequa/ Massapequa) and Joni Squire-Hill (Ohsweken, ON/ Hagerville) had a goal apiece.
Brockport outshot Buffalo State, 34-23, but Ashley O’Brien (Lima/ Honeoye Falls-Lima) made 12 saves to keep the Bengals in the game.
Buffalo State will next host Oneonta on Saturday at 1 p.m.
