Women's Lacrosse Stomps Allegheny, 16-3
BUFFALO, NY—Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/ Comsewogue) scored four goals to lead Buffalo State (1-0) in a romp over visiting Allegheny (0-1), 16-3, in a frigid season opener tonight at the Demske Sports Complex at Canisius College.
Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Hamburg) added three goals and an assist, and Shantel Ackley (Baldwinsville/ CW Baker) netted two goals and had two helpers. Jennifer Tierney (Massapequa/ Massapequa) tallied three goals. Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/ Henninger) added a goal and two assists, Erin Silky (Liverpool/ Liverpool) scored twice, and Katie Lyons (Williamsville/ Williamsville North) had a goal and an assist.
Buffalo State dominated play from the outset, racing to an 11-2 halftime advantage. The Bengals outshot the Gators, 31-13. Ashley O’Brien (Lima/ Honeoye Falls-Lima) made six saves for Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will play at Lycoming on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
