Women’s Lacrosse Tops Fredonia in Overtime

FREDONIA, NY—Katie Henderson (Lakeview/ Frontier) scored her sixth goal of the game with 2:18 remaining in the fourth overtime to give visiting Buffalo State (9-3/7-1) a 10-9 victory over Fredonia (11-5/4-4) today in the SUNYAC regular season finale.

Molly Seifritz (Syracuse/ Henninger) bolstered the Bengals’ attack with two goals and two assists. Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/ Comsewogue) added a goal and an assist, and Katie Lyons (Williamsville/ Williamsville North) also scored.

After trailing 7-6 at halftime, Buffalo State netted the first three goals of the second period to take a 9-7 lead. Fredonia scored two straight goals and evened the score with more than 10 minutes remaining. The game remained deadlocked for the next 21 minutes and 52 seconds, before Henderson tallied the game winner.

Second-seeded Buffalo State will meet No. 3 Brockport in the SUNYAC semifinals on Friday at 3 p.m. at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.
