Women's Soccer Blasts SUNYIT, 6-1
BUFFALO, NY—Mindy Wendt (Sanborn/ Starpoint) and Kelsie Moran (Albany/ Albany) each scored twice as Buffalo State (3-7/1-3) pounded visiting SUNYIT (0-8/0-4), 6-1, for its first SUNYAC win today at Coyer Field.
Wendt scored twice in the opening half, and Barb Kiliszek (Depew/ Lancaster) added a goal and an assist as the Bengals led 3-0 at the intermission. SUNYIT’s Brittany Aversa (Mohawk/Mohawk) scored to open the second frame, but Buffalo State scored the final three goals of the game, including two by Moran and one by Emily McKinnon (Kenmore/Kenmore West). McKinnon finished with a goal and an assist.
Buffalo State outshot the Wildcats, 24-7.
Buffalo State will host Morrisville tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Towers Field.
