Buffalo State's (7-6-2/3-5-1) Liz Jacobsen (Gresham, OR/Sam Barlow) scored on direct kick just 1:22 into the game and the Bengals held on to defeat host Brockport, 1-0, today in a SUNYAC battle.

Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa) made five saves to earn the shutout, despite Brockport outshooting the Bengals 15-10.

The Bengals were eliminated from SUNYAC playoff contention, by virtue of a Plattsburgh victory over Oswego. Buffalo State will host Fredonia on Wednesday for its final conference game of the season.
