Women's Soccer Falls to Cortland, 2-0

Buffalo State was shutout earlier this afternoon, losing 2-0 at Cortland.

The Red Dragons scored a goal in each half to defeat the Bengals. Andrea Marino (Utica/Mount Markham) struck first for Cortland, opening up the scoring early in the first half. Teammate Ilona Szotyoro (Saugerties) netted the insurance goal for the Red Dragons in the closing minutes of the game. Katie Melsert (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) registered six saves between the pipes for the Bengals in the losing effort.

Buffalo State falls to 5-5-1 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Bengals take to the field Friday when they visit Potsdam.
