Buffalo State snapped a six-match winless streak tonight with a 3-1 victory over St. John Fisher in its home opener, 30-24, 31-29, 21-30 and 30-28.

Krista Wierzbicki (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) led the Bengals with 48 assists and 17 digs. Vicky Manos (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) registered 11 kills and 30 digs, and Samantha Damstetter (W. Seneca/W. Seneca East) notched 12 aces, 15 kills and 16 digs. Denise Jedynak (Hamburg/Frontier) tallied 18 digs and moved into sole possession of Buffalo State's career digs record with 1,077.

Buffalo State improved to 9-17 on the season and does not play again until Saturday, October 11 in a tri-match at Medaille.
