Women's Volleyball Splits to Finish Plattsburgh Invite

PLATTSBURGH, NY--Buffalo State (4-21) dropped its first match in straight games to Hartwick, but responded with at three-game win of its own over Cazenovia to wrap up the Plattsburgh Invitational today.

Hartwick topped Buffalo State 30-9, 30-22 and 30-20 in the opener. Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) led the Bengals with 15 digs.

In the second match, Buffalo State held off Cazenovia, 30-27, 30-27 and 31-29. Schaffstall had 25 digs and five aces. Katelin Grew (Lackawanna/Mt. Mercy) added 12 kills and six digs, and Allison Suttell (Batavia/Batavia) had 28 assists and eight digs.

Buffalo State will host D'Youville on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
