Women’s Volleyball Tops Morrisville, Falls to Fredonia and Geneseo
FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (7-27/2-8) wrapped up the final round of SUNYAC Pool Play today with a victory over Morrisville and losses to host Fredonia and Geneseo.
In the first match, Fredonia defended its home court, winning 30-17, 30-21 and 30-12. Jessica Guadagno (N. Collins/N. Collins) had a Bengal-best six kills, and Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) added 13 digs.
Buffalo State took down Morrisville in four games in the second match of the day, winning 30-22, 30-28, 28-30 and 30-18. Schaffstall had 19 digs and five aces to lead the Bengals. Lauren Palisano (Buffalo/Holy Angels) added 10 kills and 15 digs.
In the final match, Geneseo defeated the Bengals, 30-11, 30-24 and 30-23. Guadagno, Ashley Ray (Grand Island/Grand Island) and Tamika Neal (Fayetteville, NC/Hutch Tech) each had five kills.
Buffalo State will next visit D’Youville on Thursday at 7 p.m.
